3D Ideas 1130: Put It Away

Claire writes: I’m grateful to the first person who taught me that it is important to put things away at the end of a conversation.  I can still remember it.  We were face to face and the work became all about a variety of Stuff.  She picked up a few things as she was speaking to represent different aspects of the Stuff.  As we neared the end of the conversation, she gradually touched each thing and spoke of what she now knew or would do. And we finished.  And a cup remained on the table.  I felt that our work was incomplete, so simply asked after we had finished: ‘And the cup?’

That’s the first conversation I remember where we used stuff.  And I am grateful that I can use what I learned there every day: It’s important to ensure that the Stuff that has been got out in the dialogue has been safely landed somewhere. Not resolved. Just put down.
