Ruth writes, “The brand new Student’s Union I had known in Oxford is no more. The building that was the height of modern in my era of bops and raves has been demolished to make way for a new teaching block.
The old Manor House stands there just the same as it did decades before when a certain Media Tycoon lived there.
Some things change. Some things remain the same and we can’t assume we know which will be which. My favourite coaching principle is ‘ask them’. We will never know what has changed for someone or what we need to do now until we ask them.”
