Zoe writes: “There have been lots of emotions in our house as September begins. For my son there’s been the uncertainty of a new teacher, a new classroom and the start of junior school. For my husband and I, it’s the start of a busy season of work and concern about loved ones who are unwell.
I’m reminded again how many of us, myself included, like to feel in control. We like to know what’s coming next, we like to know what’s expected of us so that we can meet those expectations – from teachers, colleagues, friends. We know what to do when we’re in control. Being in control feels comfortable and safe. Unfortunately it’s often not where transformation happens. Whether it’s in a coaching session or in our lives, there’s much to be said for letting go and learning to become OK with not knowing. To create space for things to emerge. To trust – yourself, the coaching process, other people…
What might you want to let go of this coming season?”
