This month’s guest blogger is coach and entrepreneur Julian Mack: “On this brisk half term Monday morning, I’ve had the glamorous experience of catching the 06:20 train from Taunton to Henley on Thames. 

Thinking to drum up my steps, I decided to walk the platform while I waited. As I trundled, the intelligent station lighting system lit my path. Say what you will about trains and strikes, this was a revelatory experience. It struck me that the lighting system is an analogy for the coaching process. Our work is to help illuminate a path the thinker is taking. At its best, the art of coaching should be subtle, non-directive, unseen and yet transformative. I hope it will be so for my three clients today.”
