Rebi writes: “Have you ever been in a role where you have felt like the “lone wolf”? Maybe there is only ‘one of you’ in your organisation, or maybe you work primarily with volunteers so your fellow teammates are few and far between?
Well be encouraged by this : These “lone wolves” are actually called “Dispersers.” They play an important role for wolves as a whole: they’re the ones who keep wolves healthy by bringing new genes into the mix with different family groups.
They also bring the wolf population into new areas. As they leave their home territory and head out in search of new surroundings and a mate, it allows them to settle in new, unoccupied space.” [https://wolfcenter.org/where-does-the-term-lone-wolf-come-from/]
This strikes me as brave work to carry this role within an organisation and our experience suggests that coaching conversations can be a useful space to process this sometimes lonely journey as you navigate the “new surroundings” you might be forging for your organisation. We want you to hear that this is important work, that you might be “lone” but you don’t have to be lonely! Coaching might help you hear yourself processing what you need to in the new space.”
