Jane Sandwith MA FCIPD ACC

Jane draws on experience of working in all sectors.  As strategic lead for learning and development in an NHS Foundation Trust she oversaw the development of a coaching network and was an active member of a regional Leadership Development Faculty.  As an HR Business Partner for a central government department she worked with senior civil servants to achieve a 36% reduction in headcount.  As a project manager for one of the largest retailing distribution organisations in the UK she developed the capability of leaders to deliver transformation and change. She has also chaired the executive committee of a local branch of Brook, a voluntary sector provider of services for under 25s.

Jane listens with curiosity and reflects back to her clients so they hear connections that enhance their learning. She has the courage to say what she sees and to deal with the impact that has on those she is coaching. Her coaching style is both strategic and contextual, enabling organisational change. Jane enables people to be able to acknowledge and develop their resources, engendering potential and confidence.  Her approach is based on the following beliefs:

Jane’s approach is based on the following beliefs:

  • People can change
  • People learn
  • We all interpret things in different ways, based on our experience
  • We can make decisions
  • Our behaviour always has a purpose

Jane believes that everyone has the potential to help themselves.  She aims to help others to understand any problem they are facing and learn how to solve both this problem and others they may face in the future.  She understands that her clients know what is possible and what may work in their situation, but may need some help in using this knowledge to develop a solution.

“Thank you again, I feel inspired and uplifted”

“Thanks again for all your wisdom and encouragement” GB

“Thank you for all your support, I was going through a very tough time but I think that now I’m seeing the light and it’s a lot closer than I imagined.” LW

By working with individuals and management teams Jane facilitates problem analysis and resolution.  These teams could be at any level in an organisation, and any size – it may even be one person.  This approach is particularly useful when something is wrong but after several attempts to put things right you realise that you have no idea what sort of help you need.  Jane’s approach acknowledges that many people may be involved, and that there will be political issues, processes to work round or change, personal attitudes and values to accommodate or influence.

Jane is a qualified and accredited coach and is a member of the International Coach Federation and Association for Coaching.  As a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development she mentors HR professionals and is trained to facilitate DiSC communication profiling as a tool to enable understanding of your own style and preferences and how to maximise your communication effectiveness with others.
