Content:

Drawing on current and relevant theory each course is individually modelled to meet the specific needs of participants.

The group will explore common dilemmas within sets and will be supported in finding suitable solutions. The course content will look to stretch skills learned during Action Learning Set Facilitator Training by looking at how to promote Action Learning in organisations, how to challenge difficult and inappropriate behaviour in a set, and what to do when a set is no longer functioning well.

The event builds on the work of Reg Revans, drawing on recent experiences and learning about the potential for action learning to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness in organisations during times of significant uncertainty and change.   Pre-reading encourages participants to reflect on their practice as an action learning set facilitator and to review case studies about how action learning has been used in organisations.

The event involves participants in practising ways of safely and confidently challenging and changing behaviour in a set.  It does this by exploring the successes, challenges and dilemmas experienced by participants as they have facilitated action learning sets in order to collect and share their learning, identify what is going well and how to maximise this, and identify what is difficult and how to deal with this.  It also revisits the rigorous core competencies of the International Coach Federation and Hawkins and Smith’s CLEAR coaching model.

Each participant will develop a Personal Development Plan for themselves as facilitators of Action Learning Sets.

Who for?

Those who have attended our Action Learning Facilitator Training and gained some experience of facilitating action learning sets in any context

Numbers

We work with up to 12 participants in a mixture of whole group, smaller groups and one to one activities.

3D Coaching has been training, developing and supervising Action Learning Facilitators since 2004. Facilitators are encouraged, if appropriate, to continue to develop coaching skills and work towards ICF Accreditation.

We believe in ongoing coaching supervision and professional development for people learning to use reflective practice.  Recognising that not all organisations have the resources to provide this internally, we offer participants on our Action Learning Facilitator Training free access to group supervision.  This is currently by bi-monthly teleconference calls and drop in sessions after every course we run in London.

If you have trained action learning set facilitators you can also sponsor a tailor made course in your own organisation.  This can integrate your context, systems and competency frameworks.

What other people say...“Take the time to invest in your own self awareness development so that you are of use in enabling others, and be prepared for your status quo to be opened up and for paradigm shifting.  This is where the rubber hits the road – it is not enough to attend – there has to be persistent powerful pertinent action as a result.  I have indentified actions that will ensure that my investment (including the pre prep, travel, time out of the office, active participation and post event reflections) will create more than 8 times ROI in the short term.” SC
