Action Learning Set Facilitation Facts

Action Learning is a powerful tool for the transformation of people and organisations. Many small businesses, public sector employers and blue chip companies are using it at every level of management as a cost effective way of encouraging reflective practice.

Action Learning is based on a radical concept

L = P + Q

Learning requires Programmed knowledge (knowledge in current use) and Questioning insight. The learning happens in a small group to provide challenge and support: individuals learn best with and from one another as they tackle their own situations and implement their own solutions.

The Action Learning process integrates: research (into what is obscure); learning (about what is unknown); and action (to resolve the issue) into a single activity. Participants develop an attitude of questioning and reflection to help individuals and organisations transform themselves in a rapidly changing world.   Action Learning can be a useful tool to further develop coaching skills in staff.
