We bought 3D Coaching into our hospital to support us in achieving a change in management behaviour. We wanted to help managers to learn how to help others to identify and take responsibility for resolving problems that were affecting their performance at work, and to do this in a way that helped them learn to help themselves in the future. Our intention was to set up a network of trained coaches who could be drawn on by two organisations, our hospital and the local Primary Care Trust (PCT), who partnered with us in sponsoring the programme of training provided by 3D Coaching.

We have not only benefited from the development of confident and competent coaches who can support others on an individual basis, but also of managers who are able to use their coaching skills when working with their own teams. Several of our coaches also found that by receiving coaching during their training they have been able to understand their motivations and management style better, and have therefore been able to develop, with the support of their peers, more effective ways of working which have reduced their stress levels. Their teams have benefited from this as well.

As a result of working with 3D coaching we are able to offer coaching support to staff who volunteer for help with managing problems affecting their performance at work, and for teams who need help to work more effectively. We have also recognised the need to provide ongoing development and supervision for our coaches to maintain their confidence and develop their skills, and 3D Coaching are currently helping us to put in place a support programme that we will be able to manage ourselves.

I recommend 3D Coaching as a supplier who focus on helping organisations to learn how to help themselves by sharing their skills and knowledge in ways that are accessible and sustainable. They have been flexible and generous in their provision of support and advise, and we hope to continue working with them to develop our coaches towards accreditation.
